THE COMMITTEE
COMPOSITION
Committee R/I is a collegial body made up of three members (a Chair and two members). It is assisted by a Chief executive and their administrative staff, as well as the investigation service. All staff hold Top Secret security clearances.
The Chair of the Committee and the two members are appointed by the Chamber of Representatives for a renewable six-year term. A substitute member is appointed for each member.
Vanessa Samain, a magistrate, is the Committee’s current Chair. She is responsible for day-to-day management.
Séverine Merckx, a legal advisor, is the French-speaking member.
Filip Vanneste, a magistrate, is the Dutch-speaking member.
